MORE ABOUT CHERIE
A California native, Cherie Acosta has been working in the field of theatre since 1993 as a teacher, director and costume designer. An Assistant Professor of Costume Design at Lamar University and the resident costume designer for university productions, Cherie teaches courses in costume construction, stage make-up and costume design.
Her design credits include many local university productions, dance company performances and work with other prestigious institutions such as Johns Hopkins University. Her work has been premiered internationally at conferences in Paris France, Hiroshima Japan and Sri Lanka India. Cherie's research interests include the merging of the arts and sciences, artistic collaborations and the use of clothing as protest art.
